Let’s Get Physical

This project stemmed out of an invitation by Lara Evoy of Les Productions Matière Grise to set-up a portrait studio as part of the event “les atelier portes ouvertes” in the mile-end district of Montreal.  People passing through were invited to participate in an interactive portrait, with either a person they knew or a stranger.  Each participant chose a card from a pile with the name of a body part written on it.  The participants were then asked to touch those body parts for the portrait.  Yes, a bit like a “photo-Twister” game.  Over forty portraits were taken during this 3-day event, with each participant receiving a digital copy of their portrait.  A catalogue including all the portraits and a text by Lara Evoy was produced in 2009.
